Dermapen microneedling
Controlled micro-injury to prompt skin repair.
About this treatment
Fine needles create controlled micro-channels in the skin, prompting the natural repair response that gradually firms texture and softens scarring.
Microneedling works indirectly. Rather than removing a layer of skin, it triggers the skin's own wound-healing response, which lays down new collagen over the following weeks. That is why results appear gradually and why a course spaced several weeks apart does more than any single session.
Who this is for
Uneven texture, enlarged-looking pores, and shallow acne scarring are the usual reasons. It is not a first-line treatment for active, inflamed acne — treating that comes first, and we will say so at consultation rather than proceed.
Comfort and what to expect
Numbing cream is applied first and given time to work. Needle depth is set to the area and to what is being treated, so the session is adjusted rather than standardised. Expect redness resembling mild sunburn for one to three days, sometimes with light flaking.
Aftercare
Keep the skin clean and simple for the first days: no acids, retinoids or scrubs, and no makeup on the first day. Daily sun protection is not optional here — freshly needled skin pigments easily in Gulf sun, which can leave you worse off than before. Sessions are usually spaced about four weeks apart.
