About this treatment

A solution applied for a controlled time to loosen the outer layer of skin, used for tone, pigmentation and texture. Offered for the face, and for elbows and knees.

Peels vary enormously in strength, and the strength that suits you depends on your skin tone as much as your concern. Deeper skin tones carry a real risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation when a peel is pushed too hard — which is why we assess before we treat and often start lighter than patients expect.

Who this is for

Uneven tone, sun-related pigmentation, dullness, and darkened skin on elbows and knees. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on active eczema or broken skin, or while taking isotretinoin — all reasons the consultation comes first.

What happens in the session

The skin is cleansed and prepared, the solution is applied and timed closely, then neutralised or removed. You will feel warmth or stinging while it is on. The time it is left on is the main variable we control, and it is shortened at the first sign that your skin has had enough.

Afterwards

Expect redness, then flaking or peeling over roughly three to seven days depending on strength. Do not pick or pull at peeling skin — that is what causes marks that outlast the peel itself. Strict sun protection is required throughout, and for weeks afterwards.
